The Green Room Community Theatre will open its first Black Box show of the 2013-2014 season, The Smell of the Kill, on Thursday, October 31 at 7:00 pm. The Black Box Theatre is a smaller, more intimate space located behind the mainstage at the Old Post Office Playhouse. This venue is perfect for shows with small casts where sitting closer to the action allows the audience a more personal experience with the show.
The Smell of the Kill is a comedy about three delicious, malicious wives, each with a miserable, unloving husband. While the men, who are heard but never seen, play golf in the living room, the wives exchange confidences: Nicky’s husband has been indicted for embezzlement, Molly’s husband is stalking her, and Debra’s husband is leaving her for another woman. The men mistakenly lock themselves in a basement meat locker, and the women must decide whether to leave them in the cold permanently or to let them thaw.
