Auditions Scheduled for Into the Woods
Auditions for The Green Room Community Theatre’s final show for the 2011-2012
season, Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods, are scheduled for Saturday, March 31 at
2:00 pm and Sunday, April 1, at 7:00 pm. Auditions will be held at the Old Post Office
Playhouse located at 10 South Main Avenue, Newton, NC 28658. Please enter at the
lower level door at the back of the building (on South Ashe Avenue).
There are roles available for men and women, ages 18 and up. Into the Woods is a
musical, so please prepare a song (at least 2 pages worth). The song does not have to be
from Into the Woods but should be from the musical theatre genre. Please bring sheet
music for the accompanist. A cappella auditions are discouraged. Wear comfortable
clothing for a movement / dance audition.
No prepared monologues are necessary, and there will be some cold reading from the
script. You must be able to be at all performances of the show. Please be prepared to stay
for the entire audition time.
Into the Woods is produced by Catawba Valley Medical Center and BB&T and is
directed and musically directed by John Coffey. Production dates are June 8, 9, 15, 16,
22, & 23 at 8:00 pm and June 10, 17, & 24 at 3:00 pm.
