The Green Room Community Theatre is always striving to offer you and your students excellent educational theatre opportunities by bringing literary classics to life on stage. Our 2012-2013 season is no exception.
This year, we have several tales focusing on periods from America’s history such as Washington Irving’s classic The Legend of Sleepy Hollow; The Homecoming, a musical based on the book by Earl Hamner, Jr. about life during the Depression; and a musical journey back to the days of the American Frontier with Quilters (especially appropriate for 5th graders and up studying American History). To tie in some state history, NC Spook Tales explores North Carolina’s many myths and legends in a fun and suspenseful way.
Don’t forget the Green Bean Players who bring classic fairy tales to life like this season’s multicultural approach to Little Red Riding Hood Around the World as well as a seasonal favorite, The Elves and The Shoemaker. These are just samples of what this season has to offer!
The Green Room has an excellent reputation for delivering quality performances to school audiences right here in Catawba County at reasonable prices. Tickets are only $5.00 for students and parent chaperons with no charge for teachers and bus drivers.
Chocked full of curriculum-based material including language arts, social studies, and character education components, these plays will allow your students to enjoy the art of theatre in a local setting that is part of their community!
